The School Street Food Pantry is a non-profit organization, and as such we require donations to keep serving the community.
Monetary
Monetary donations are very much appreciated by the School Street Food Pantry because they give us flexibility to supplement our inventory with additional produce, breads, dairy and refrigerated/frozen foods that we often are not able to receive through food drives and food banks. These donations have been especially important to us as we are navigating through the Covid-19 pandemic.
To make a tax-deductible monetary donation, please:
- Drop off or mail a check to the First United Methodist Church at 211 N. School St., Normal, IL 61761. Please make the check out to First United Methodist Church and be sure to include School Street Food Pantry in the memo line or in an attached note.
- Visit Online Giving at Normal First. Indicate the amount you are donating in Mission Giving and specify School Street Food Pantry in the adjacent box. Follow the remaining links.
Food & Other Donations
Our food pantry does accept food items. However, due to safety regulations, the items must be non-perishable, not be expired, and no visible damages can be seen on the packaging. Donations can be dropped off inside Normal First United Methodist Church (211 N. School St., Normal, IL) between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm (except noon to 1:00 pm) Monday – Friday by the main office at Door G, located on the west side of the building.
There is also a large need for non-food items such as toilet paper, feminine hygiene products, laundry detergent, dish soap, and deodorant. Non-food items will all be accepted as long as they are in their unopened and original packaging. We will also accept gently used or new cooking utensils, cookbooks, to distribute to students in need.
