Who We Are

The School Street Food Pantry serves college and vocational school students within the Bloomington/Normal, IL area who are experiencing food insecurity. Our student users typically attend Illinois State University, Illinois Wesleyan University, Heartland Community College, Lincoln College and Paul Mitchell School. In addition to making nutritious food available to current students on a weekly basis, the pantry also seeks to educate students about healthy eating habits, cooking, applying for government assistance and budgeting. The School Street Food Pantry, which is volunteer-operated, is civically-engaged and is active in forming partnerships with campus and community organizations in order to raise awareness about food insecurity and other social challenges that impact student health and well-being.
